Are you being overpowered?

Iran War. News about it everywhere. To me, this is a sooner or later thing.

Under normal circumstances this situation is equivalent to a Hawkish fed and has impacted some of my positions in S.Reits. I wanted to unload part of them - wellz just 'another' opportunity to hone my patience. Who knows what's next about the upcoming Fed decision.

US tech stocks were significantly affected as well - must be as an opportunity for those who have been waiting for this small downturn (if plateaued). For some reasons, I've currently no position in them at all while still keeping tabs.

It is always refreshing to read Truth Social posts by US President Donald Trump. Something about his writing means so much from various angles. Think back to a time before 2002.

I'm a millennial, and a good bunch of years before gen z. Mobile phones were just starting to launch with colour screens (some with cameras) in the middle of my secondary school days. I was still using a black and white Nokia phone during my national service, those with a built-in torch light at the tip of it when camera versions were still prohibited at camps. I'm from the Navy, btw. I'm not that old but at the age where kids would not hesitate to think it.

We had minimum (Facebook not Friendster) or no social media exposure during our youth days. Latest happenings were from newspapers - good old days of The New Paper purchases; apart from The Straits Times while trying hard to improve my English language. Those days when journalism are kinda at its 'good and professional' era compared with today's frequently unbelievable writing style/ titles online, that many gen Zs might be reading. Or as if past writings were maybe not biased enough. Reporting. Balance. What the higher ups are up to. Glancing the hardcopy versions (put online too) and they are still superb. Imo.

This 'made me' ponder about the topic of indoctrination. A topic I believe is enough said, out loud (especially for the past few years), purported and frequently substantiated across numerous parts of Elon Musk's posts at X social media platform, one claimed to be one of the highest used media platforms in the world to view 'more authentic' news eg. in the form of much video uploads.

So, the US president unfiltered manner of speaking and writing (in pristine English) is at the same time absolutely refreshing, even since 2016. (*His thoughts perceived as good or bad, nonetheless.) No need for pretentiousness and oppression of personality. Com'on - watch some of the world war movies. Deal with evil at hand the way it needs to be dealt. With full power and strength - such as seen across the episodes when Goku's son, Gohan was fighting Cell, to the extent that the live news anchor decided to acknowledge the truth (after much time) and pushed Satan aside, as the planet was on its brink of destruction. And Gohan just smashed through the tiny Cells, without much hesitation - familiar feeling? And only when things seemed to be so lost and done, then allies (Vegeta in this case) decided to help. Or is just all a lame show.

Here, a memorable scene from Halo Season One~

Captain Keyes: People don't just manually override decades of indoctrination.

Master Chief: I did.

In my years of trading I've literally 'watched' market news articles "swapped" within seconds at the start of market openings. Seemed like 2 different types of articles/titles were prepared. One of them published when market dipped at opening in expectation of what had transpired in the last few hours. Seems accurate but at 2 second min, the overall market fluctuated totally against the title contents, and then immediately as I refreshed the page, a new fully contrasting article had overwritten the previous one. What revelation and confirmation as I shared about it with a friend over lunch at the CBD. No screenshots made tho.

Maybe long story short, I think we can all get to punch through the lens of the matrix and focus on continuous renewal of wisdom and understanding :)
